Winner of Buskers by the Lake 2022, Tanya George is known for her evolutionary soul - jazz - electro vocal tones taking musicianship to innovative new heights. Performing a cappella live with a vocal looper or with her four piece band, she has astounded countless audiences with her 4.5-octave vocal range.
Miss George is not a stranger on the Australian festival circuit, performing on a diverse range of stages including St Kilda Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Frankston Waterfront Music Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival + many more.
Tanya has refined the art of combining elements of soul, jazz and pop delivering excellence with her band as well as her unique solo vocal looping setup. This setup saw her win Queenscliff Music Fest Busking Comp 2018, the 2020 Alex Legg Memorial Foundation Award 2020, secure a place as a finalist on the Voice Australia 2021 (Top 5 Rita Ora’s team) and winner of Buskers by the Lake 2022 Battle of the Buskers.
After releasing her first band EP Sonder (2018, produced by Tommy Spender) and her solo vocal loop EP, Normality (2020), George earned a run of festival gigs in 2022/23 and worldwide write-ups, “Australia’s rising Queen” - Messed up Mag(Germany), “Her technical vocal looping isn't something to miss… she exceeds expectations” - BuzzMusic(LA).
Selling out multiple headline shows and headlining festivals such as Sunshine Lunar New year to 25,000 people, Tanya George is set to release her debut upcoming albums (band & solo). Tanya will be playing Airlie Beach music festival solo.
