Festival Location

Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach is a small coastal village offering tourist shops, restaurants, weekly markets and a lively nightlife. Renowned for its party lifestyle, the main street is lined with bars, pubs, restaurants, cafes and plenty of live music.

It is located on the east coast of Australia about half way between Brisbane and Cairns. With a perfect sub-tropical climate and an average temperature of 26ºC, people have been coming from all over the world to visit Airlie Beach and it is a favourite holiday destination for backpackers, sailors, anglers and anyone who likes sand, sea and palm trees.

Travelling to Airlie Beach

The Whitsundays is located along Queensland’s central coast in north-eastern Australia, approximately 1,120km north of Brisbane and 630km south of Cairns.

Great Barrier Reef Airport is located on Hamilton Island (HTI) and is serviced by Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar. Cruise Whitsundays operates ferries from Hamilton Island to transfer passengers to Airlie Beach and other island resorts. Whitsunday Coast Airport (PPP) is approximately 40 minutes from Airlie Beach. The airport is serviced by five domestic carriers: Bonza, Qantas, Skytrans, Virgin Australia and Jetstar. Buses and taxis meet every flight to transfer guests to Airlie Beach or to ferries bound to the island resorts. Car hire is also available at the airport.

The Bruce Highway is the major road linking Queensland’s coastal cities and towns. The Bruce Highway runs through Proserpine and Bowen, with Airlie Beach located approximately 20 minutes drive off the Bruce Highway at Proserpine. Just follow the signs to Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands along Shute Harbour Road. Major national coach operators such as Greyhound Australia and Premier, include The Whitsundays in their regular scheduled services into the coastal community of Airlie Beach from all major centres along the east coast of Australia.

Queensland Rail services include the Spirit of Queensland, linking Proserpine to all the major destinations from Cairns to Brisbane and beyond to Sydney and Melbourne. Taxis and Whitsunday Transit buses meet every arriving train to provide transfers from Proserpine to Airlie Beach, Shute Harbour and the island resorts. Coach transfers between Proserpine and Airlie Beach are included in rail travel passes.

Getting Around

Free Festival Transport

Festival ticket buyers with wristbands can hop on and off any Whitsunday Transit bus during the festival. There will also be an additional shuttle service that will run between the Sailing Club, Airlie Main Street venues and our accommodation partners.

General Info

FAQ's

When you purchase a ticket you will receive an email with your booking details. Present this (on your phone is fine) to the ticket office to receive your festival wristband. The ticket office will be at The Whitsunday Sailing Club. From the main street just walk along the waterfront toward the big tent! The office will be open from Thursday 7th of November. Further details will be sent closer to the event.

A standard ticket covers FREE Whitsunday Transit bus transfers between our accommodation partners and the main street for everyone wearing a wristband. Free entry to all festival venues and the main tent. Free entry to the official after party at Northerlies Beach Bar and Grill.

A VIP ticket covers all of this PLUS access each evening to the VIP garden including your own bar with a 6 hour daily ( Friday, Saturday, Sunday) food and alcohol package, own toilets, tables and chairs backing onto the ocean. Mingle with the artists and sponsors all weekend!
Yes you can!
Yes you can! Just email us on tickets@airliebeachfestivalofmusic.com.au with your original ticket and your request. Don’t delay as there are limited number available.
Yes, one day tickets are available but won’t be released until the final program is announced.

Under 18’s are not permitted in the main tent however there are a number of main street participating venues that allow entry for U18’s. No pets allowed sorry.

Some official venue partners have music starting as early as 9am for the breakfast crowd. This will all be in the program that will be released on our website, socials and in a handy paper copy that you can collect when you collect your wristbands.

ABF0M does not have any designated parking areas. All parking is subject to the Whitsunday Regional Council by laws and fees. Your best bet is to leave your car at your accommodation and take advantage of our free transfer service with thanks to Whitsunday Transit.

Yes, providing capacity isn’t reached prior. Please note that ticket prices will be more on the door.

No need! There is lots of seating provided under the main tent.

Buy a regular ticket online and we will issue another when presented with your companion card at the gate.
